In this edition of Rock Lick Legends we look at Michael Schenker, guitarist for the Scorpions, UFO, and MSG and his use of the Aeolian mode. We will examine some of the techniques and note choices Schenker uses and apply them to the Aeolian mode which he has used on a number of his recordings. Remember that the Aeolian is the 6th mode of the major scale and is made up of 1, 2, b3, 4, 5, b6, b7.

Schenker almost exclusively plays the Gibson Flying V, and it has been his main guitar for years. For amplification, Schenker uses Marshall and effects which include, the BOSS Digital Delay and Chorus Ensemble as well as the Cry Baby and Wah Wah pedals.
